Big John is married with two grown children, one of whom (Kristen) is also a member of the Fatty's crew. They are the only father and daughter who both played in the tournament series. John worked for 25 years as a union operator for Con Edison, and now works for Power Gen as a safety manager. John has been playing poker for 30 years - everything from back room games in Chinatown and Little Italy to Vegas, Atlantic City and Connecticut casinos.
